Panagallu Shri Chaya Someswara Swamy

These are the ruins of the most ancient temple said to have been constructed by Kundooru Cholas during 1025 A.D. Today we consider that we are most modern. Any person who visits the places should necessarily accept that we are no way in comparison with the civilization of our ancestors. This is evidently seen from the structures which are available to us today. These ruins saw several generations - they saw the great rulers - they say the great worshippers - they saw the original Hindu Culture and tration - they say and experienced the polished strokes of the artists who struggled to carve so nicely with all unbeatable craftman ship. They threw a challenge onto us - onto the next many generations - they established their superiority and engineering command - they established their command on the subjects of spiritual, socio, economic sciences - perhaps none of us can dare to take up such a work - though we are prepared surely we can not afford spending crores of rupees for such a small piece of artistic excellency in a tiny village. ONE THING IS CERTAIN - A REAL HUMAN BEING SHED TEARS AT LEAST ONCE TO SEE THE FATE OF THE STRUCTURES AND THE RUINS.

a View from the centre hall of the temple

Though we spend a few crores, surely we can not get such carvings in such a polised state which stood for over 1000 years so far. Probably the life of our houses may last for a 100 years or so. It is a carving on a single monolithic stone.

The top of the centre hall and the figures could not be identified due to partial destruction.

About the Holy Place narrated by the Government of Andhra Pradesh.
